Kalandia Camp Womens Handicraft Cooperative
For over six decades, we have empowered women in the camp and surrounding villages through vocational training, childcare, handicrafts, and community initiatives, preserving Palestinian heritage while creating dignified livelihoods. Since then, it has become a beacon of economic and social empowerment, offering vocational training in tailoring, embroidery, and handicrafts; running a childrens nursery; hosting a permanent crafts exhibition; and supporting humanitarian and community initiatives.

Palestinian Heritage Alive in Every Stitch
Embroidery: A Story of Identity and Resilience
In 2021, Palestinian tatreez embroidery was inscribed on UNESCOs Intangible Cultural Heritage list. At Qalandia Camp Womens Cooperative, we have safeguarded this craft for over six decades, teaching new generations the secrets of Palestinian stitches and turning skill into sustainable livelihoods. Embroidery here is not only art, but a symbol of identity and resilience, a bridge linking our past to our present and future.
